Team EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities officially begin on the day results are announced and remain in effect until the final event of the season.

All athletes must:

• Abide by all rules stated in this Handbook.

• Be aware they are always representing the school.

• Encourage team members and others around you.

• Always display a positive attitude toward teammates, coaches, parents and school staff.

• Refrain from inappropriate postings on any social network.

• Be aware they are role models to all younger girls/athletes.

• Refrain from possessing or using drugs, tobacco or alcohol – on or off campus – at any time.

• Maintain academic eligibility.

• Be there for team events and be on time.

Violation of the above will not be tolerated and may be considered grounds for suspension from team activities and/or removal from the team. The way participants conduct themselves, in and out of uniform, directly reflects our entire team. Members must follow all rules set forth in this agreement. Dismissal from the team is at the discretion of the coaching staff, in conjunction with the Athletic Director.

Team Policies

PE credit: Active participation on the cheer or pom team year-round meets criteria to fulfill 1 year of PE. There is a fitness test scheduled in May that is mandatory to fulfill this requirement. 2 years of high school physical education is a graduation requirement.

Academic Eligibility: In order to participate, each student involved in extracurricular and/or co-curricular programs must be in good standing with attendance and discipline records (as determined by the Assistant Principal and/or Eligibility List). Students must also be academically eligible with a 2.0 or "C" on a 4.0 scale and no more than 1 F on the 10/20 week report card period. Only one of the subjects can be P.E., and student aide classes do not count. Grades are checked each ten week grading period, and any student who does not meet the criteria is declared ineligible until the next grading period.

Being on time is essential for creating a team bond and setting a good example for everyone. We should all strive to be punctual and respectful of one another's time. Let's work together to ensure we're all doing our part to make this team a success! Missed practices/illness: 3 unexcused absence suspension/dismissal policy. Please notify the coaches about missed practices due to illness.
